U.S. Department of the Interior

The U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service headquarters in Washington DC installed an exhibit to showcase some of the nation’s great parks. Twenty-two images were chosen from photographers nationwide. Two of my images were selected for their permanent exhibit including; the World War II Memorial and the Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens in Washington DC. (The Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens photo is featured here, see the Gallery for the World War II Memorial photograph.)

Association of the Army

I created two new brochures for the Association of the United States Army's (AUSA) Annual Meeting in Washington DC, in 2011 and 2012. These meetings host over 33,000 attendees from all walks of the Army, 700 exhibitors, 150 training sessions for the members of the Army, and represent military personnel from over 80 countries. The brochures were a key element of communicating the various levels of sponsorship available to support the AUSA’s Annual Meeting and the exhibit areas for organizations to choose how to best represent their products or information.

Tetra Tech, Inc.

I provided 17 photographs for Tetra Tech, Inc. (an environmental sciences company) for two conference rooms (the Washington DC room and the Arlington room) to create an engaging environment in their meeting rooms in Arlington, Virginia (all 17 photographs are shown on the Gallery page). The Vice President of the Arlington office was a dedicated Washington Nationals (Nats) fan, so he also commissioned two photographs of the Nats’ stadium for his office. In addition to the conference room and office photographs, I provided an image of a building in Santa Fe for a proposal cover and I did the graphic design layout, shown on the Gallery page.

Along with the photographs, I designed three outdoor exhibit panels for a Tetra Tech, Inc. project at Camp Pendleton Marine Base in California. The three outdoor panels, shown on the Gallery page, were placed at Lake O’Neill and Camp Pendleton’s lifeguard station.

Tetra Tech, Inc. also hired me to design a custom logo for Camp Pendleton Marine Base's Wildlife Management Branch, shown on the Gallery page.

Tetra Tech Sciences

I designed two tradeshow exhibits for Tetra Tech Sciences (a part of Tetra Tech, Inc. specializing in health and environmental risk) for two different exhibit spaces. The first was a set of three stand-alone pull up banners (shown below) and a metal cutout logo with Velcro backing to be applied to a carpeted podium front. The second was for a smaller table top display using a pop-up design that was light weight and collapsible for easy setup and transport. I researched the vendors and oversaw the proofs, printing, and shipping for the client.

Tetra Tech Sciences did not have an in-house website administrator; they hired me as a subcontractor to provided them with their individual group’s website. My responsibilities included bi-monthly updates, general maintenance, and graphics ideas and support (the website home page is shown below, additional pages provided in the Gallery). They were my client until the division was disbanded.

Ireland's Four Courts

I worked with Ireland’s Four Courts (an Irish pub) to create an updated website and organized the relaunch of their site, as well as a new social media site. I provided new ideas for their website architecture to increase useability for their customers and to facilitate more efficient updates. We worked to consolidate their marketing approach and increase their social media presence. We discussed their objectives, developed an understanding for what information their customers were most interested in, and decided on Ireland’s Four Courts' goals in developing their social media visibility.

The outcome was to re-design their website, focusing on the following items:

  • Clean up the navigation to the key elements they wanted to emphasize for their business
  • Develop concise messaging
  • Add multiple links to their social media sites
  • Develop a social media site just for their business
  • Develop newsletters and flyers (shown on the Gallery page) for special events that were printed and emailed from their database
  • Create automated email responses to basic client inquiries (two sample website pages are shown below, with additional pages provided in the Gallery)
  • Create a new email template, using the look and feel of the re-designed website for increased brand consistency

The results were an increase in website use and page hits, better customer service from the more efficient website architecture, and a greater social media presence. I made bi-weekly updates to multiple areas of their website including menu changes, new graphics, event updates, and podcast uploads.

Eogogics

I helped Eogogics, a telecommunications training company, with the development of their logo, selecting their corporate colors, and providing branded materials for them in print and PDF formats. I designed their brochure, marketing folder, business cards, and address labels for materials (shown below are the brochure and marketing folder). I worked with their chosen print vendor, ensuring that the content lined up with the vendor’s printing parameters and I checked and approved the proofs and shipping for the client.

Marva Makle

Marva was beginning her Holistic Health Counselor business and needed some graphic design assistance. I worked with her in developing the business image she was looking for; providing a bright and healthful feeling in her materials. Next, I created single-sided business card (to fit her printing budget), custom letterhead (that she could import into Word and easily print as a PDF), a brochure cover that she was able to use to package different handouts, and a handout and flyer for tradeshows and networking meetings.

Excite Soccer Programs LLC

Excite Soccer Programs LLC is a children's soccer organization offering classes and camps for children 3-12 years old. I worked with Excite Soccer’s Program Director to provide them with regular weekly website updates and refreshed the design of their registration forms (a sample webpage and form are shown below, with additional pages provided in the Gallery). The weekly updates included general maintenance, revising camp registration forms for new camp locations and dates, and providing graphics ideas and support. I helped them review and cleanup their client database, as well as creating a new email template and flyers for their special events that could be sent from their database.

Fairy Tails Pet Sitting

Fairy Tails Pet Sitting is a dog walking and pet sitting service – I worked with the owner of Fairy Tails to provide her a business card for her small business. She wanted something fun and light that she would be able to hand out at the dog park or while walking dogs for clients. We used a bright teal color and rounded corners for a friendly and relaxed feel for the card.

Pat Gerachis

Pat, a realtor, was looking for two different styles of websites to appeal to the different markets that she was targeting. The general information content for the sites was the same but the listings that she wanted to populate would be able to pull from different databases depending on the site. I worked with Pat to come up with two alternate styles for her perspective buyers.
